GET STAIN GEL

Permanent markers = permanent stains, right?

Well, not necessarily. In fact, surprisingly there are a few hacks out there that can help remove permanent ink marks, well… permanently. You just need to know which ones to use for whichever specific surfaces you are trying to save!

3 golden rules when removing permanent marker stains.

Working with permanent marker stains makes it a good idea to follow these 3 golden rules; whichever stain removal method you are using:

    1. These stains can be tricky, so accept it may take effort and repetition.
    2. Treat stains as soon as possible, the older the stain, the harder it gets.
    3. Patch test your chosen methods on discrete areas first.

Whichever surface you are dealing with, stick to these 3 rules and you’ll get much better results.

So… let’s split our permanent marker stains according to surface.

stains on clothing.

1. smol stain gel.

  1. Wet the stain from the reverse side using cold water.
  2. Apply smol stain gel directly to the stain and gently pat into the fabric.
  3. Leave for 5-10 minutes but do not allow the stain gel to dry.
  4. Wash as normal according to your clothing care instructions.

  3. Gently rub the powder into the stain using an old toothbrush.

N.B. This method should only be used on white clothing as lemon juice can act as a bleaching agent on more colourful fabrics.

  3. Apply the paste to the stain and leave for 5-10 mins.
